Receptionist/Administrator

 

Hours/Weeks: 35/Term time plus INSET day (39 weeks)

Salary Scale: Level 1/Scale 2 - NJC Point 4-5

Required: ASAP

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrator with responsibility for front of house to join our team at The Spinney Primary School.  The position is 35 hours per week, and this will be based on a term time plus 5 INSET days basis, job share will be considered.  

 

Hours of work:  Monday – Friday 8.30 am – 4.00 pm (includes 0.5 hour for lunch, unpaid)

 

The Spinney is a popular and welcoming Group 2 village school in Cherry Hinton on the Southeast outskirts of Cambridge, age range 4 – 11. 

 

We are looking for a capable, enthusiastic, energetic person with a can-do attitude to join our happy team.  The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

 

  • Experience in a School Office is very desirable.
  • Experience in an office administration position in the public or private sector is essential.  
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent ICT skills with experience of using Microsoft Office packages.
  • Flexibility in adapting to the changing needs of the school on its road to improvement.  

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (training can be provided):

 

  • Front of house, welcoming face of the school, management of reception area including welcoming visitors; conducting security checks as necessary. 
  • Deal effectively with enquiries from pupils, visitors, and other adults.
  • Provide effective administrative support to the Headteacher, SLT and teaching staff.
  • Day to day responsibility for the monitoring of pupils’ attendance
  • Assist with admissions.
  • Processing of purchase orders
  • Administration of school trips
  • Edit and distribute school’s weekly newsletter. 
  • Other duties relevant to the post
