The School Council is made up of two representatives from each class from Year 1 to Year 6. The council, coordinated by Mrs Hartley, meets every Tuesday morning during assembly to discuss matters of interest.
The school council represents the thoughts of their peers and communicates ideas, concerns and topics of interest to the group. Like many young people across the globe, Spinney children care passionately about the health and future of our planet Earth. Last year, in response to this growing clamour, the School Council instigated a Plastic Waste Awareness Day and delivered a special assembly on climate breakdown which culminated in a whole school day of action for Earth and its inhabitants. Both the plastic awareness day and the day of action were attended by the local press. This year, we will continue to work hard to keep these issues in the forefront of all our minds.
